Sound familiar?

The questions that keep owners up at night

You are not alone in asking them. Most owners of businesses doing $1M to $10M ask the same ones, and most never get a straight answer.

“What is my number? What is this thing actually worth?”

61% of owners have never had any formal valuation.

Three out of four sellers report deep regret within a year of selling, usually because they discovered the gap between what they hoped and what a buyer would pay far too late. Two or three years of lead time changes everything. Six months of focused work beats six months of hoping.

“Did we just build ourselves a job? With all the overhead and stress too?”

A business that cannot run without you is not sellable.

Answering calls, sending invoices, chasing paperwork, wearing every hat. If you stepped away for a month, would it run without you? For most owners the honest answer is no, and buyers discount that reality hard.

“Is almost everything I own tied up in this business?”

Nearly half of owners lost sleep last month over exactly this.

No plan for what comes after. The quiet math of whether you can ever stop. Half of all exits happen unexpectedly, through events nobody scheduled. Knowing your number before you need it is the difference between a choice and a crisis.

“Am I leaving money on the table?”

Top-scoring businesses sell for 6.5x earnings. Average ones get 3.3x.

Same profit, nearly double the valuation. The difference is not luck. It is a short list of value drivers that buyers pay for and most owners never measure. The Self-Score measures them.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers

Is this really free? What is the catch?

Yes, it is free, and there is only one catch: if you take the Self-Score and do not apply the valuable feedback it provides somehow to your business, you will not be able to hire us for paid services in the future, because we only work with people who take action and make things happen. The free Self-Score will not cost you any dollars and can add massive value to your business. But it may cost you your reputation if you do not take action on the advice it provides.

Do I need my financials ready?

No. The Self-Score asks about the business you run every day. Revenue ranges, team size, how involved you are in daily operations. Nothing you need to look up. If you later want the full diagnostic, that is when financials come into play.

Will you try to buy my business after I take it?

We are buyers, and we are upfront about that. But the score is not a trap or bait-and-switch. Your results are yours and actionable. You can even take the Self-Score multiple times several months apart. If you ever decide to sell and want to talk to us as potential buyers, we would welcome the conversation. Our agenda is to provide real value at every stage of your relationship with the Scantor Group: up front, transparent, measurable, accountable, valuable.

Who sees my answers?

Only our team, and only to prepare your score. Your numbers are never shared, sold, or published. If you want us to delete your responses afterward, just ask.
